My Journey Toward Healing

I didn't start recovery because I had everything figured out. I started because I was tired of feeling stuck in my own head and constantly battling thoughts that felt louder than anything else. Recovery hasn't been a straight path for me, it's been made up of lots of small steps, setbacks, moments of doubt and moments where I realised I was stronger than I thought.

I created Healing With Niomi because I know how lonely recovery can feel. From the outside, it can look like nothing's wrong but inside, it's constant and that's not something not everyone understands.

This space isn't about perfection or doing recover the right way, it's about having somewhere that feels safe, honest and real. A place where you can come back to when things feel too much.

Whether it's through blogs, journals or just reading something that makes you feel understood. Everything here is created from my own experience not from a textbook but from living through it.

You're not alone in this, even if you feel like you are.

What I Believe About Recovery:

1
Be Kind To Yourself

Recovery isn't about being hard on yourself or getting everything right. It's about learning to treat yourself with more understanding, even on the difficult days.

2
You're Allowed To Go At Your Own Pace

There's no perfect way to recover. Some days will feel easier than others and that's okay. Your pace is still progress.

3
You Don't Have To Do This Alone

Even if it feels no one understands, you're not the only one feeling this way. This space is here to remind you of that.

4
Small Steps Still Matter

It doesn't have to be big changes, sometimes recovery looks like the smallest steps and they still count.
